Unaware of the public auction process until many years later, he was stunned to learn that his property, valued at $400,000, was sold at auction for just $149,000. Realizing that there may have been funds to help with his recovery, he decided to learn about the process of locating excess funds for individuals like himself who had unknowingly lost money. He made it his mission to help spread the word and recover funds that rightfully belonged to others, simply because they were unaware such funds even existed.
